Known also as Antarctic toothfish, our Chilean sea bass is sustainably line-caught in the deep, icy waters of the Ross Sea. Coveted by chefs worldwide, this luxury fish has a rich, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth flavor and large, moist flakes. Its high oil content is largely comprised of omega-3 fatty acids and helps prevent overcooking. Individually flash-frozen and vacuum-packaged in recipe-ready portions.

  • Excellent source of protein

  • 5,190mg omega-3s per 6-oz serving

  • Certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council

  • Product of United Kingdom*

*This fish is caught in international waters, so the country of origin is the nation where the harvesting vessel is registered, which in this case is the UK.

Ingredients: Wild Chilean sea bass (Dissostichus mawsoni). Contains fish.

Flash-Frozen is the New Fresh: Much of our seafood comes to you frozen, which means you can enjoy seasonally harvested fish and shellfish any time of the year. Freezing fish rapidly and within hours of catch locks in flavor and freshness, giving us straight-from-the-sea taste without the risk of spoiling. Major advances in rapid-freeze technologies mean seafood can be frozen solid in a matter of seconds, which minimizes damage to cell walls, preserving taste, texture, and moisture levels. The process of freezing seafood has evolved to the point where frozen fish is comparable to-if not better than-fresh. In fact, consumer taste-tests conducted by Oregon State University consistently put frozen seafood on top.

Marine Stewardship Council: The MSC is a global nonprofit organization that works with scientists, fisheries, industry experts, and other nonprofits to improve the way our oceans are fished. In the MSC program, sustainable seafood means that it was fished from stocks with healthy populations, with minimal impact on the environment, and in an area with effective, responsible management. When you see the MSC blue fish label on a Vital Choice product, you can be confident it comes from a certified sustainable source, one that is helping to combat mislabeling and seafood fraud. Our MSC chain of custody certification number is MSC-C-50265.

Marine Omega-3s: Omega-3 fatty acids are found in seafood, livestock, and some plants, but seafood is the only concentrated source of two types that are vital for human health: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Evidence suggests consumption of EPA and DHA supports brain development and eye and heart health.

"If you really want a treat, cook this Chilean seabass with some butter, rosemary, and cherry tomatoes, then top over wilted garlic spinach. You'll think you are at a restaurant!" Geoffrey Zakarian
