Sea Otter Adventure in SE Alaska
We're delighted to spread the word about a very special sea journey with our old fishing friend Dennis Rogers.
Dennis and his wife Toni founded Alaska Sea Adventures, and Dennis captains their 84-foot, world-class expedition yacht, Northern Song.
We've taken guests on several trips with Dennis through the whale-filled channels of Southeast Alaska's Inside Passage ... and everyone raves about the experience.
If you've ever wanted to learn more about the affable sea otter and photograph these outrageously cute critters up close, then act fast to snag this rare opportunity to join the May 2011 Sea Otter Research Project in Southeast Alaska.
The 84-foot Northern Song
This first phase of this two-part sea voyage will depart Petersburg, Alaska on May 14th and will wend its way among the beautiful islands of Keku Strait near the Tlingit village of Kake.
After completing a half-day cruise to the research location, you'll spend the next six days observing and assisting U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and University of Alaska Fairbanks researchers working to learn more about sea otter habits, movements, and nutritional needs.
The Phase I trip will end on May 20th in Kake, where participants will be ferried or flown back to Petersburg.
Phase II will begin in Petersburg on May 21st where participants will be transported by Alaska state ferry or air charter to Kake, and will end in Petersburg on May 27th.
