Our delightful encounter with world-class weightlifter Kara Bohigian

by Randy Hartnell

Last month Dave and I manned a Vital Choice booth at the eye-popping Fit Expo in Pasadena, California (An event we discovered thanks to our friends at GrasslandBeef.com).

I say eye-popping because it is hard to believe that there are so many powerful, chiseled physiques in our increasingly sedentary world.

Even two hardy ex-fishermen like Dave and me looked out of shape by comparison: Girlie-men, as Governor Arnold would say.

We met many friendly folks at Fit Expo, but one person who stopped by our booth really stood out. In addition to being the current 148 lb. class world record holder in several power-lifting events, Kara Bohigian is an attractive, vivacious woman blessed with an irrepressibly cheerful attitude.

Kara loved our salmon, and mounted a one-woman word-of-mouth campaign for Vital Choice among her colleagues—unsolicited support for which we are very grateful. It seems that some of Kara's power-lifting pals are so focused on strength-building supplements that they overlook the need for well-rounded nutrition.

Of course, salmon and other fatty fish deliver the complete performance promoting athletic package, including high-quality protein, healthy fats and vital nutrients. Unlike many lifters and bodybuilders who consume large quantities of protein bars, powders, and milkshakes, Kara advocates getting nutrients primarily from food, for peak mental and physical performance.  We couldn't agree more!

Here's the unsolicited email Kara sent us after meeting at Fit Expo. Thanks, Kara, for your wisdom, kind sentiments, and support!

Dear Randy and Dave,

It was such a pleasure meeting you both this weekend. I can't thank you enough for introducing me to the most delicious food I have ever experienced! Vital Choice is a life-altering discovery for me. I'm constantly traveling to meets and appearances and maintaining a healthy diet is almost impossible. The ability to carry meal size cans of the most pristine, healthiest, nutrient packed salmon and have it taste like gourmet cuisine is beyond magnificent. Your salmon tastes more like an indulgence than a health food!

After eating your Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon for only five days my energy levels are way up and my skin is crystal clear... my teammates even commented on how radiant it looked. I also miraculously lost 3 pounds!

I really appreciate you feeding me all weekend and sending me home with salmon :)  I have already begun telling other lifters about your company, as it's literally a dream come true.

Thank you again so very much,

Kara Bohigian

Note: Kara may join us at our booth at the LIVE WELL Expo in New York on April  23 and 24, so if you're in the area be sure to stop by and say hi!
