Appalachian Blueberry Pie


Filling
4 cups Vital Choice wild organic blueberries
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoons almond extract

  • In a mixing bowl combine all filling ingredients. Transfer filling to a pastry lined 9" pie plate.


Topping
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar packet
1 pie crust pastry

  • Combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles course crumbs. Sprinkle over filling. Cover edge of pie with foil. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes. Crust should be golden and fruit tender.
