Our uncommon Tanzanian nuts are smaller and crisper than cashews from the world’s major growing regions.
Despite their rich flavor, cashews actually have about 10 percent less fat than almonds, with about 20 percent more fat than walnuts.
We only purchase cashews from the most recent harvest season, and use thick, re-sealable pouches to maintain freshness.
Protein Power: Like almonds, cashews have almost as much protein as eggs (5 gm per ounce versus 5.5 gm per medium egg).
Heart Health About 60 percent of their fat is oleic acid — the same heart-healthy monounsaturated fat that’s abundant in almonds and in olive and macadamia nut oils. And just a quarter-cup of cashews supplies more than one-third of daily value for monounsaturated fat and 22 percent of the daily value for magnesium, which supports heart and nerve health.

The major difference is sodium content, with the roasted-salted nuts containing 90-95 mg per 1/4 cup servings, versus 0-3 mg in the raw nuts. (See Nutrition Info tab above.)
We offer both to accommodate personal preferences. Many prefer roasted nuts for snacking, and raw nuts in cereal or yogurt and with berries or other fresh foods. It's up to you!

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place and use within one month.
For maximum life, refrigerate Vital Choice Nuts in their original zip-seal bags, where they will keep for about six months, or in the freezer, where they will keep for about one year.
