I had the lox for breakfast awesome and just had a piece of the sableflsh. When I lived in NY, I used to buy fresh fish at the market at Grand Central Terminal it was very very expensive for sable, so I only bought it on rare occasions. I enjoyed your article this month re protein for breakfast. After discovering your sockeye salmon years ago, I also discovered that my favorite breakfast is salmon and cantaloupe. The flavors and combination of hot and cold is delightful. Grilling an extra filet the night before just means heating the leftover portion the following morning. It keeps it simple.

I began taking your [sockeye salmon oil] capsules in February 2006 as a preventative - with the hope that they would offer me some measure of cardiovascular protection in the long term. I recently went in for a bi-annual physical and my doctor noted that my LDL cholesterol (which had previously been 156) was now 121! My exercise level, body weight, blood pressure and such was all the same as it had been two years prior. My doctor asked if I had been doing anything different, since the only time he has seen such as significant change in LDL levels was in patients undergoing cholesterol treatment with medication. Hello! Today we are placing our second order for your salmon burgers. We have a 3 year old who has been raised on organic food, and doesn't take very well when given new food choices. Just a quick note to praise your Salmon Fish Oil capsules. I started taking them about 4 months ago simply as a general health improving supplement. About a month ago I read in one of your online bulletins about a woman whose LDLs had been significantly reduced by these supplements. I was due for a blood test and was very interested to see what my results would be (I wanted to lower my LDLs to below 100). I was thrilled when my results came in: My LDLs went from 107 to 65! My HDLs from 75 to 115! And my triglycerides were 75. From a cholesterol point of view I couldn't be better!

I bought some farmed salmon and cooked it at home. The smell is almost unbearable. I mean it is rank...it smells like the big ol shad we catch when crappie fishing. I used to think that wild salmon was way too expensive. Then I decided to try Vital Choice wild Alaskan salmon. What I found was that it was much more filling than my supermarket salmon. The flesh was absolutely gorgeous. One thing that turned me off to the supermarket stuff was a little tag they had on the pack, "color enhancer added." The wild Alaskan salmon also cooks faster than the supermarket stuff. There was also a little article in TIME magazine about PCB's (polychlorobiphenyls) in farmed supermarket salmon. This happens because of the fish meal they are fed. I told my husband "It's a helluva lot easier to prevent cancer than treat it!" So we eat wild Alaskan now....The canned wild Alaskan salmon is really great too!

I am originally from the Pacific Northwest and ... got used to buying salmon on a regular basis. I have always loved salmon and even ate it daily when I worked in Alaska one college summer. I was truly amazed at the difference (the quality) of salmon and halibut compared to what we get locally. I have learned very much especially about farmed vs. wild. Who knew?
