Food maven's healthy lifestyle mag recommends us for sustainable seafoodby Craig Weatherby
Martha Stewart’s Body+Soul magazine covers health, fitness, and beauty stories from a natural and “green” perspective.
We were surprised and gratified to learn that Vital Choice seafood is recommended in the October, 2009 issue of Body+Soul, in a feature called “Company We Love.”
Here’s what appears on page 24 of Martha’s magazine:
“Can’t make heads or tails out of which kinds of fish are sustainable? Randy Hartnell is here to help. The former Alaskan fisherman created Vital Choice, a mail-order company that specializes in wild-harvested seafood.
“In addition to three salmon varieties, Hartnell also supplies halibut, albacore tuna, scallops, pink shrimp, and the often-hard-to-find black cod (aka sablefish).”
Thanks, Martha and company!
If you pick up the October, 2009 issue of Body+Soul, please be aware that the photo shows a farmed trout, which the photo editor probably thought was a salmon. It's an understandable error... trout and salmon both belong to the Salmonidae family, and can resemble one another.
