Our random-weight offering contains 5 lbs of skinless-boneless portions of varying sizes, with approximately 14 individually packaged portions per box.
Note: Your package may include smaller tail sections – which cook quickly and are ideal for smaller appetites – and white, red, and or "marbled" King portions, which are similar in flavor, texture, and omega-3 content. Alaska King Salmon naturally exhibit a red, white, or "marbled" red-white coloration, due to variations in the amounts of red pigment (astaxanthin) they absorb from the tiny marine animals in their diet. Each kind is equally delicious!
In addition to ample protein, King Salmon provide three beneficial natural food factors in abundance ... amounts are per 6 oz portion, and will vary annually and by harvest location:
- Omega-3s – Some 3,370mg, or 10 to 15 times more than many fish oil capsules.
- Vitamin D3 – About 400 IU -- in the optimal D3 form -- which is more than most other fish, and more than any fortified food, equalling the US RDA of 400 IU. (Most experts now advise adults to consume 1,000-2,000 IU every day.)
- Astaxanthin – About 4 mg (Red King). This red-orange pigment is a carotene-type antioxidant that, in test tube experiments, measures 100-500 times more powerful than vitamin E. Astaxanthin content varies by color: Red King portions have the most while Ivory King portions will have the least.

Storage Keep frozen. Thaw overnight in refrigerator, or for faster readiness, place unopened package in cold water for 30 minutes or until fish is flexible.
Serving Tips Rinse fish quickly in cold, clean water. Cook in a medium-hot lightly oiled pan, under a broiler, or on the grill for 7-8 minutes, until only the very center is still translucent. Remove fish from heat and let it “self-cook” another two to three minutes, until just cooked through to center before serving.
NOTE: It is perfectly safe and healthful to serve our fish raw or partly cooked, because flash-freezing has rendered it 100% sushi-safe.
Enliven your fish entree with antioxidant-rich seasonings such as Vital Choice Organic Salmon Marinade Mix or other herb-spice blends. Add our Mix or the seasonings of your choice to a little olive oil and marinate the fish, refrigerated, for 30-60 minutes or overnight. Or, simply mist fish lightly with olive oil or macadamia nut oil and dust with seasonings before cooking.
