Our Extra-Dark Organic Chocolate is hand-crafted with intensely aromatic cocoa grown in Latin America and the Caribbean, and boasts a whopping 80% cocoa solids … rich in flavor and antioxidants.
(The antioxidant content and capacity of cocoa solids exceeds that of all common foods, including tea, berries, or grapes).
And – unlike almost all chocolate – ours is made with raw cocoa that has not been treated with alkali ... a standard process called Dutching, which destroys most of cocoa's beneficial antioxidants.
Health benefits
The flavonoid antioxidants abundant in extra-dark chocolate (catechins, procyanidins, and more) appear to promote healthy blood-fat profiles, support artery function, and reduce blood stickiness (platelet activation).
